DIY coffee table- as easy as it looks

SO much space when she is studying (for books, coffee etc.) and since she likes to be active instead of just buying something, she decided to go to the hardware store and bought the few things she needed. This table is for sure as easy to build as it looks- if it still counts for "building" ;)Man benötigt: 2 Paletten (aus dem Baumarkt für ca. 10-15 Euro je nach Baumarkt, oder ebay Kleinanzeigen etc.)Holzlatten in der Breite wie die Lücken in der obersten Palette4 Rollen (wer den Tisch auf Rollen haben möchte)Schrauben, selbst gemachte Beize, Nägel, Holz-Wachs, AkkuschrauberYou need:2 palettes (from the hardware store, about 10-15 euros each palette; or from ebay)wooden slats to fill the gaps of the top palette4 wheels (for those who want the table on wheels)screws, homemade wood stain, nails, wax, screw driver

Also, los geht's:

So let's get started:
1. clean the palettes from dust, dirt etc.
2. turn both palettes over and fix the screws where the palettes have contact
3. install the wheels and make sure you use all holes on the wheel and put a screw in
4. turn the table and nail the (stained) wooden slats into the gaps
5. protect the wood with wax (you may need a few coats)
6. and there it is: THE eye-catcher in your living room :)

Da lässt es sich doch sicher schneller lernen :) Sooooo much space (and storage for books)!!! Now studying should be done a lot faster :)

boys birthday in blue and red

Our friend Nadja has two boys... and we are always thrilled, how she decorates on their birthdays - especially, since I, Simea, only decorate for girls:D

Nadja was inspired from the favor-bag-glasses I made for a nautical babyshower last year (click) and she made the complete table in blue and red.

Hier einige photos von dieser Party:
Here some pictures from that party:
Süß, oder?
Cute, right?

bow from a book diy

Egal!

You always wanted an individual accessoire for a party, as a gift or just for a great photoshoot?
Here is how to make the ultimate bow from old bookpaper for you or your boyfriend!

Das  brauchst du dazu: Echte Fliege, Karton, Schere, Bleistift, Umschlagklammern, gewünschtes Papier,  Band, Nadel & Faden, Knopf,  Haarspray

You`ll need: a bow for the shape, Bookpaper, Cardstock, Scissors, a pen, brads, a button, hairspray, needle,

Schritt für Schritt/ step by step

1. Use the real bow as a stencil and draw the shape on cardstock.

2. Cut the stencil from cardstock and use it on your bookpaper.

3. Use a big brad to bind all the layers onto your cardstock (you`ll need that to make it more stable).

4. Cut a ribbon the same length as the ribbon on the "real" bow.

5. Tie the knot:D just over the brad.

6. Sew a button onto the ribbon and make a cut into the ribbons other side.

7. Now your bow is ready. If you want it to have ruffles, use the hairspray to make it stick.

8. Put it into a nice box and give it as a present (or save it for your next occassion!)

 What do you think?

spring brunch in pink and beige

(neben all dem guten Essen - hier)
When we invite people over to brunch, we love to decorate:D (we always love to decorate!!) Sometimes thats even more important than the food (here)

I love to buy flowers and arrange them into small vases and bottles - everything looks nice with a flower in it! For this brunch I used tulips, hyazinths, roses and some green.

The craft colored paper cups I decorated with ruffles from crepepaper and tape. Sarah, my friend, made some cute name-tags for the paper straws. Theres of course a paper straw in pink for this brunch - and we have them in all colors... You never know, which one you will need next...

Banners are always nice, especially the little ounes! I make them from leftover-papers:D
Thats something to make the red-colored wall less intensive... a pinnboard with paper and doilies.

I made some rosettes with crepepaper as well.

For the girls we had pink hot chocolate and the big girls got some pink lemonade - thats always nice looking:D
That was a small valentines day party here at our house - but you can use the ideas for any spring brunch as well, right?

Brunch-Ideen Quickies:D

ENGLISH - below:D

I, Simea, do love a good brunch! Spending time with one or many of my dear friends is so precious, and eating all the time while talking is the best:D So here I wanna share some of my favorite little brunch ideas. (and they are easy and quick as well). On wednesday, I am gonna share some cute pictures from the tables setting as well.

Grosse, kleine, sehr beliebt!!!

We really are into mottos. I think my children have no ideas, that there are people actually partying without mottos all over the world. For them every party HAS TO HAVE a motto! Even if its just something small like "all hearts":D So here we made GErman pancakes with strawberries and cut them into big and little hearts!

The cheese can be cut too! And our girls looove it like this. We have some sausages with faces - they love them more than anything else. But they are sooo expensive! Thats why I cut a lot of our food for them:D Or make Faces and stuff. Works EVERY. SINGLE. TIME!
Ich bin ja voll der Waffel-Fan. Was man da alles unterschiedliches drauf tun kann... Lecker!!

One of my favorites are waffles. I really love them, love to experiment with different toppings etc. And they are great for a brunch as well:D

Gedanken?

And a very great thing is MUESLI in glasses. I use joghurt without flavor, chrunchy muesli and homemade berry sauce. Its so good. And when I dont have the time to make the sauce myself, I use "Rote Grütze" from Lidl. Thats a great alternative. And seriously, who doesnt love layers?

What do you think of my brunch-tips?

*trendscouting at the ambiente*

Hallo Ihr Lieben / hello friends,
On monday, the 10th I was on the trade fair ambiente in Frankfurt. This is the biggest fair for home/ interior/decor in Europe. 11 halls full of furniture, decor, cushions, bedding, gifts and tableware... it was CRAZY!!!
Man konnte so richtig in hübschen Dingen VERSINKEN!
Getting LOST in beautiful things! And I thought that you are probably interested in all this... so take a time out, get some coffee, enjoy- my post about beautiful stuff, home-decor trends and the fair-search for the new "in-animal"!:D

Was uns natürlich nicht überraschte:D
Our first stop was Hall 8 with exhibitors like housedocor, Hübsch-Interior (my favorite), bloomingville, Lene Bjerre, Nordal, Richmond, Riverdale and more great danish/nordish interior specialists. I loved walking around their booth, seeing a lot of theirs products in real life and not just the catalogue and taking in the beautiful decorations. Loved that - no surprise there.

LAMPEN//LAMPS
We saw a lot of industrial lamps, practical everywhere... Old ones just for decorations, new ones to buy and new ones looking like old ones to buy as well. I could have bought a lot of them... I know, I already own very cool and very old factory lamps and some cool new ones... but... for me.. I could always always have more!

Staying on the subject - I loved the very natural lamps as well... you know those with the colored cords, just hanging there...

die vielen coolen neuen Birnenformen
or the new cool light bulbs

die graphischen, kupfrigen GEstelle (bei Kare)
or the very graphic coppery metallic shades

und diese Spots hier - ein Traum!!!
and I need to have a spot like this! AWESOME!

If you know me... I am very metal these days... I sold a lot of my shabby furniture when we moved an bought metallic dressers, spinds, etc. So that is still on for me... I loved those from KARE: (man, the whole booth was FULL of AWESOMENESS!)

Oder die tolle Holzbank von dieser holländischen Firma/ Or the very natural wood from DE Pagter Antiek & Interieur:

Ich liebe alles was organizen einfach macht - da ist Hübsch mein Held:D/
I love everything for organizing - that makes Hübsch my Hero:D
And I definitly have to save money for this beauty (photo: Nordal)

TEPPICHE//CARPETS AND RUGS
I gotta say, i am not a carpet-person AT ALL... But some of these beauties made me think again:

Hier diese witzigen Kreise im Kreis
I loved the circle-in-circles (and TREND ALERT... we saw them A LOT)

oder diesen Teppich aus REißverschlüssen
this one with all zippers

or all with the triangle patterns... even that cow-one:D

MUSTER//PATTERNS
We joked a lot about stars - but there definitly were still a lot of stars (and we still loved them)...

but for me the triangle patterns were the thing I was drawn too the most. You will definitly still see stars from me and confetti but... the triangles made me so happy!!!

(Nordal) I admit, I just saw that pattern one time... but I HAVE. TO. HAVE. IT! Dandelions! Soooo cute! (photo: Nordal)

Und die Wellen gabs auch immer wieder. Oder sind es Schuppen?
and the waves were there too

MATERIALS
Copper was still there! Thank God! Its so warm and homey. Isnt this coppery wall behind the bed great?

We saw a lot of rustic wood - which made us happy every time..., natural wood, branches... a lot of wood-looking wood: Goodbye white paint:D

Beton/ concrete
Darüber haben wir ja schon geschrieben/ we've talked about this..
(read our concrete post)

Unser Lieblings-Material... ganz neu: Bambus-Geschirr!
our favorite new material: bamboo (from Nordal) really great feel especially for outdors! (photo: Nordal)

ceramic and glazed vases and stuff were everywhere and really beautiful! (photo: housedoctor)

COLORS
defintley neon (still) but most of the time one neon color in combination with pastells, which looked very nice.

oder pastells alleine/ or pastells just by themselves:D (photo: Housedoctor)

Holz mit weiß oder Holz mit Schwarz - wood with white or wood with black -

KIDS
look at those cute suitcases from RJB Stone (they had some foxes too!)

Littlephant was very cute

NEW (FOR ME) COMPANIES
Für mich neu und mit sehr viel Potential war its about romi aus Holland!
Definitly new and cool was its about romi (klick) - with a lot of potential!

they had something for EVERYONE... kind of like maisons du monde... classical, shabby, trendy, modern,

and for the child in me - magpie! so many cute animals and great colors

FUN STUFF
Haben-will! Bert Loeschner had a cool idea: he made the typical outside plastic garden chairs foldable. And invented cool art-like versions - the dudes made me laugh so hard!

Animals...
we joke a lot about owls here... because they were REALLY BIG in Scrapbooking five years ago... and are still there... at a show like this...

We always try to find the NEW ANIMAL. We saw
cats

whales

elephants
 birds

even those... awful bulldogs

 a jellyfish

forest animals

but what we loved most... was the fox - it is our animal of the year. We want a lot of foxes around us. Just the shape of their face is so cute! right? and its orange. and the tail... love it!

Welche Muster/Materialien etc. sprechen euch an! Gebt mal Feedback!

Okay, this POST was LOOONG, longer than long... but... what I REALLY would love to know now... is your thoughts! What did you like, what made you happy, when seing it? Were you at the fair- then what did you love? communicate with me:D PLEEEEEASE:D
